Challenges & Project Goals

At its 26th year, CFI was in a period of hyper-growth, investing in global brand sponsorships and ambassadorships with Maria Sharapova and Lewis Hamilton. However, their web presence was severely lacking: their outdated website no longer reflected the prime level of their business.

Goals

Redesign the corporate website

The first of our priorities was the trading platform redesign: the corporate website needed a facelift to instantly communicate the brand’s authority, security, and market leadership. Updated design had to keep the distinctive style of CFI.

Create an intuitive user experience

The main challenge was to structure the website and user journeys so that massive amounts of complex financial data would be accessible to traders of all levels (a core tenet of good fintech UX design).

Build a scalable design system

To ease branching into multiple new products and campaigns, the design system needed to include all elements and provide guidance for other teams.

Fireart delivered a full strategic redesign and created a new foundational design system based on the distinct CFI’s brand features. We took the market leader from 1998 and fast-tracked it into 2025, providing the slick visual language and architecture to scale their digital presence further.

01 Strategy Done with Stakeholders

We ran workshops to define the core pillars of a “trust-driven” design. To achieve this, we first had to understand what “trust” truly meant to CFI’s users. The findings were embodied in design work and transferred to the client for further use in marketing.

CFI made it clear that trust isn’t just about security. It’s about clarity and control in every interaction. Users need to instantly understand what’s happening, especially with financial data, and feel confident making decisions.

That’s why education was so important. It was about making users feel more prepared and in control. That builds trust as well.

Restructured user journey and navigation across 50+ pages. Now anyone visiting the website could easily find their way to relevant items amongst CFI’s vast product offering.

A clean, professional, and accessible visual design. This approach is a hallmark of the best banking & fintech design and resulted in a website that inspired confidence in visitors.

CFI follows a branded house strategy, where consistency and recognizability across products is essential. Instead of reinventing the brand, our role was to refine and elevate it — aligning the visual identity with CFI’s evolution into a global, digital-first trading platform.
We modernized the logo by softening its geometry, updating the letterforms, and improving visual balance — creating a cleaner, more contemporary wordmark that feels both confident and familiar.

How We Translated a Legacy System into a Modern Experience

Our process focused on solving CFI's business challenges through user-centric design. It was a fast-moving, high-pressure project, and the client appreciated our proactivity and ability to make smart design decisions on the go, without waiting for perfect specifications.

01 Architecting Path for 15,000+ Products

This vast offering needed taming. We mapped out user journeys for CFI’s diverse trader personas, making sure no one gets lost. Crucially, this included an educational journey, incorporating features like a trading test to help users feel “prepared and in control,” a key pillar of building trust.

The new site structure used clear categorization, navigation, and modular content blocks to guide users. Whether someone is looking for a specific MENA stock or forex trading conditions, the path is clear and direct.

We touched up the brand elements, replacing the outdated aesthetic with clean, modern design elements. A refined color palette, crisp typography, and generous white space created a sense of professionalism and confidence.

Every element, from data tables to call-to-action buttons, was designed to feel smooth and authoritative, creating an exemplary user experience for trading platforms.

03 Building the Design System

The website redesign was the first application of the project’s most important asset: the CFI Design System. We developed a library of reusable components and UI patterns. This system was spread to designers and developers, ensuring that every button, form, and icon was consistent everywhere.

This accelerated the redesign of 50+ pages and helped design CFI Prime, Trading Transparency+, and CFI Rewards faster.

04 250+ Screens Mobile App Redesign

This comprehensive fintech mobile app redesign covered over 250 screens. We redesigned the onboarding flow: instead of overwhelming users with a long form, we broke the process into manageable steps with a progress bar. Showing required documents up front helped reduce drop-off and ensure all personal data remained secure.

The new homepage acts as a personal dashboard with a fully customizable layout, so users can add, remove, or reorder widgets as they like.
We redesigned the money flows, trading, and portfolio experience, and designed the interface to support fast execution, intuitive asset browsing, and detailed breakdowns of holdings. Finally, we added Kaiana, CFI’s built-in AI assistant feature, wrapped into a smart, conversational interface.

04 250+ Screens Mobile App Redesign

Throughout the app, we minimized cognitive load by showing only the necessary fields, while adding helpful cues like estimated processing times. And because traders often prefer dark mode, we designed the entire experience in both light and dark themes.
